The Citadel

The Citadel is open the hours: 8am-5pm daily and can be contacted at +20 2 512 9619. The Citadel offers breathtaking views of Islamic Cairo and it is in a castle setting. It was built in the 12th century and it has characteristics of Mohammed Ali. He was the early 19th century leader who freed Egypt of the Mameluke yoke. This is a must see also.

The Cairo Tower

There is a restaurant at the top of the tower that revolves around also if you feel like getting a bite to eat while you are there.

An-Nasir Mohammed Mosque

The An-Nasir Mohammed Mosque is open hours: 9 am - 4:30 pm daily and it was built between 1318 and 1335. It is a beautiful example of Mameluke architecture and you will love looking around at its exquisite interior. This was once the main mosque that was used by the Citadel.
