Cairo
International Airport - Since there is a
new terminal (Terminal 3) currently under construction
and will be completed in January 2007 the Cairo International
Airport will be even more modern with much more capacity
that it has now. Right now a free shuttle bus links
the two terminals that exist now and it is about 2
miles apart.
There are many choices for transportation to and
from the airport. There are Car Rental Agencies,
which include Avis, Budget, Europcar, J Car, Hertz
and Thrifty if you prefer to rent a vehicle. There
are taxis available from the airport to central Cairo.
The trip takes about 30 minutes. Another choice for
travellers is by limousine, which will go to central
Cairo for a flat rate fare. An airport bus service
operates from Terminal 1. It is Bus no.400 and it
operates during the day every 30 minutes and at night
once on the hour.
If you are in need of any assistance there are information
desks in Terminal 1 and 2 and in the Arrivals
and Departures halls and in the transit hall.

numerous restaurants and there are bars located in
the Departures halls of both terminals. They are open
24 hours. There is plenty of shops in the airport
for all of your needs and even a pharmacy located
in both Terminals. For your convenience there is also
a business centre in Terminal 1, which provides computer
and fax services. You should find everything you need
in the Cairo International Airport to assist you during
your beginning of your trip in the Cairo area.
